Firehouse Ministries operates the largest day shelter program for homeless men in Birmingham. We provide a safe environment open five days a week and on all inclement weather days. The day shelter program runs from 2-4 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Individuals have access to laundry, showers, toilets, lockers, toiletries, weekly doctor’s visit, and afternoon snack. Workshops and group counseling are offered for self-improvement and empowerment. The day program allows individuals to network with other agencies for health, medical, educational and employment opportunities.
