A Safe Haven for Birmingham’s Homeless Men
Firehouse Ministries operates Birmingham’s largest day shelter program for homeless men, providing a safe, welcoming environment five days a week and on all inclement weather days.
Our day shelter program runs from 2–5 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, offering essential services that support well-being, stability, and long-term empowerment.
Services & Resources Available
During program hours, individuals have access to:
✔ Laundry, showers, and toilets for hygiene and dignity
✔ Lockers for secure personal storage
✔ Toiletry items to maintain health and cleanliness
✔ A weekly doctor’s visit for medical support
✔ Afternoon snacks to curb hunger and provide nourishment
✔ Workshops and group counseling for self-improvement and empowerment
Beyond daily necessities, the program connects individuals with partner agencies, opening doors to healthcare, education, employment opportunities, and social services—helping them take meaningful steps toward stability.
