SHELTER PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Firehouse Ministries is hiring a part-time Shelter Program Assistant to support the daily operations of our emergency shelter and provide direct assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness. Under the supervision of the Shelter Coordinator, this role focuses on life skills education, participant engagement, and coordination with case managers to help clients achieve stability and long-term goals. Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, documenting progress, assisting with transportation, and maintaining accurate records in HMIS. Ideal candidates will have strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to serving vulnerable populations, and familiarity with Birmingham’s nonprofit and social service landscape (high school dipolma or equivalent required).
