Firehouse Ministries’ literacy programs are essential initiatives designed to address the educational needs of homeless individuals and help them improve their literacy and related skills. Our program aims to empower homeless men by providing them with the tools to break the cycle of homelessness, improve their employment prospects, and enhance their overall quality of life. These programs provide a valuable bridge towards self-sufficiency and independence. For individuals who have not completed high school, GED preparation courses are offered. Earning a GED can significantly improve job prospects and access to higher education. Opportunities are provided for literacy development Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at a time based on the individuals life commitments and goals.
